Take Me Out to the Ball Game
I’m off to a baseball game today with my family and I had no idea what to wear. I tried on a cute cotton dress by Jack Wills – I figured I could wear it because it is comfy and it is the same colors as the baseball team – it works right? Wrong. This did not go over well with my family. I had to look like a fan. This is my interpretation of baseball-chic. What do you think?

Blue Crush
Blue and white is such a perfect color combination for summer, but it can quickly turn nautical if you aren’t careful. Instead of stripes, try for an all-white outfit with blue accessories for a pop of color. To keep your outfit office friendly, yet easy to transition to a night out on the town, I recommend asymmetrical silhouettes from Proenza Schouler. Zara also has some great, more price-friendly alternatives.

A Night Out in the LES
This was my outfit inspiration for Saturday night. A night out in the LES with your girlfriends requires a crimson lip, lots of leather & rockin’ booties.

The Met Gala 2013: Punk Meets Red Carpet Couture
What is the most anticipated red carpet event in the fashion industry? Hands down it is the Met Gala. Why is it so special? It is in NYC & close to my neighborhood! Fine, maybe I am a little biased. On a more serious note, the Met Gala is the only time every year that my favorite celebrities and fashion icons actually walk down the red carpet. No, I am not talking about Kim Kardashian, even though it was her first appearance this year. Let’s just say that even the Olsen twins strike a pose for the cameras (this is a big deal. The best Olsen sighting you get all year is probably on TMZ where the little celebs can be mistaken for chinchillas).
While not the most “glamorous” Met Gala event in history, I did appreciate each celebrity’s iteration of “punk,” from Anna Wintour to Pink. My favorites include Rooney Mara (loved the crimson lip), Taylor Tomasi Hill (the spikes on her dress were so unexpected) & Dakota Fanning (hello, she looked stunning, and quite mature, in that Rodarte dress).
Check out the pictures straight from the red carpet, compliments of Vogue.com & NY Magazine.
