One of my clients is going to the Vueve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic on Saturday as the guest of the CEO of LVMH. She turned to me to tell her what to wear, what to expect, and what celebrities would attend.

I have attended a polo match once in my life and know that it is all about the hat. First of all, your “it” hat protects you from burning in the sun at the match, so it is a smart item to wear. Secondly, your hat is a statement piece that tells the whole elite world at the match who you are and what you are doing there. Needless to say, without a great hat, you are nobody…and fried to a crisp.
